Bl.Pier Giorgio Frassati has had a huge impact upon my life with his zeal and love for the poorest of the poor, his humility, devotion to prayer, and joy filled spirit. I became aquainted with him after moving back to my hometown of Buffalo NY and I was looking for a place where I could belong and live out my Catholic faith, I came across a Frassati Group for 20-30s in the area which has helped me to cultivate friendships rooted in Christ and to be of service to the community in Prayer, Formation, and Acts of Charity. Pier Giorgio's intercession has carried our group and he continues to do great things in my life all for the greater glory of God!

I was introduced to Bl. Pier Giorgio by many of my young friends at different times. I didn't know much about him at first, but whenever he was spoken of his name was always accompanied by great excitement and an obvious fondness on the part of the speaker for him. These emotions soon caused me to research Bl. Pier Giorgio and I soon discovered why so many young people are devoted to him. It is through a shared love of Bl. Giorgio that an acquaintance gave me one of his prayer cards, and through this prayer card I have been constantly reminded to "strive for the highest goals, to flee from every temptation to be mediocre." Bl. Pier Giorgio aspired to greatness in everyday life and through his example it is made clear that even those who live ordinary lives are called to real holiness and love of God beyond mediocrity. Pier Giorgio displays the courage of actively living out a quietly ordinary life for God, thus setting a beautiful example for all young people of today.

Got to know about Blessed Pier Giorgio through a friend. Read about his life, asked him for prayers, told hundreds of youth especially my own Children about him. He is a family member and we include him in our post rosary litany every night.

Every July 4th we take a hike in his honor. What a gift he is to our family and the Church helping us live the Beatitudes.

I came to know Bl. Pier Giorgio about 12 years ago when I read about his life-story. Being a retired Catholic high-school Theology teacher, I was amazed by this young man's life and accomplishments. He reminded me of several impressive young men I had the opportunity to instruct over the years. And I could easily sympathize with the difficulties he sometimes had with his studies. Also, since I am an only-child, he reminded me of "the older brother" I wished I had while growing up. I invoked his intercession at various crucial times.....especially concerning family matters, since he had such difficulties with his own parents. And God acted quite CLEARLY and PROMPTLY through Bl. Pier Giorgio's intercession. I entrusted care of my elderly mother, Ruth, to Bl. Pier Giorgio.......and the response was a miracle!! For instance, just today (June 21) she was operated on for a broken hip (SHE IS 99 YEARS OLD!) and the operation was a complete success! Her doctor said that he has every hope that she will walk again (her physical therapy begins tomorrow, (June 22nd) after a few week of rehab therapy. In the past, she has survived falling in the house with only a scratch. I call him "carissimo
fratello" and pray for his help, guidance, and PRESENCE in our household daily. I also told him: " When my time comes to go home to Jesus, Little Brother, I want you there to guide me to Jesus......and that goes for my mother, Ruth, also." I have NO DOUBT that he will be at my side, along with Jesus, Mary, and Joseph when that time comes.
I truly hope that he is canonized a saint SOON.....what better example do we have for young people than this wonderful, modern athlete and "man of the Beatitudes" who lived in the 20th century???

For me Pier Giorgio Frassati was very famous, amazing young person who can help everybody and live near God. In my country Pier Giorgio body was in 2016 year and in this time I didn't know about it but my friend inform me and than I go to see him. It was very best time spending with Pier Giorgio in my church in Rybnik in Poland. I was spending this time praying to Pier Giorgio, meeting him and I can to know something about this young boy. I bought also book about him. Pier Giorgio always likes to go mountain and likes sailing like me. It was very best and exciting time. I think he should be the saint.

I came to know him through my priest and since I have a son who is young and looks so much like him I so wanted to pray to Giorgio to help my son grow in holiness ...We have an Adoration Chapel named in honor of him so I get to pray to Giorgio often. So want to take my son to visit Giorgio in Turin when he graduates from college my prayer is that when we do God will have made him a saint.

Greetings! I want to share this story which details favors I received through the intercession of Pier Giorgio Frassati.

In 2014, I was living in Los Angeles after moving from Ohio. I was having a diffcult time in LA due to several circumstances, so I asked for Pier Giorgio's help. At the time, I was 24 and knew Pier Giorgio was 24 when he died. Because of that special connection and because I admired this blessed, I entrusted my year to Pier Giorgio and asked him to be my special friend. I even put on a medal I receive from Frassati USA in commemoration.

Things ultimately did not work out in Los Angeles, so I decided to move out. My dad flew from Ohio to ride back with me across the country. I spent a year searching for my next step. I found myself in a group called The Marian Missionaries of Divine Mercy under the direction of Fr. Michael Gaitley. We are a group of men and women who give a year or so to discern God's will and do the works of Mercy. http://marianmissionaries.org/

I see my journey to this group as a result of Pier Giorgio Frassati's intercession. I discovered this by connecting a series of events that happened on the same day I moved out of Los Angeles. On this day, the Marian Missionaries completed their purchase of the house they would live in. On this day, the President of the Marian Missionaries became the president of the Marian Missionaries. He was inspired by a visit Cardinal Stanisław Dziwisz made in the name of John Paul II to thank The Marian's of the Immaculate conception for their work spreading Divine Mercy at the Shrine of Divine Mercy on that day. On this day, Fr. Mike, called a friend of his to see if he was interested in joining the Missionaries. He said yes. Also, this was the anniversary of the Ordination of Fr. Seraphim Michalenko. This man ran Faustina's cause for canonization, spread the message of Divine Mercy, and translated the diary of Faustina into English. The audio version of this Diary inspired me throughout my journey in Los Angeles, and helped me immensely through some very difficult times. Fr. Seraphim, before I was born, also happened to be the pastor of a parish I attended when I lived in Ohio, which I consider a spiritual home. 

All of these events happened on the same day. That day was May 20, 2014, the anniversary of The Beatification of Pier Giorgio Frassati. In honor of how good a friend Pier Giorgio Frassati has been to me, I share this story.

I also want to mention, I've had the privilege of visiting a discernment house called Frassati House. It's in the Diocese of Tennessee under the leadership of Bishop Stika. I was fortunate enough to see an icon of Pier Giorgio, which I keep as the backdrop of my iPad.


Also, during another retreat led by the Marian Missionaries, and after sharing my story about Pier Giorgio, I met some of the friends who prayed for the healing involved with the latest miracle due to Pier Giorgio's intercession in Long Island. I was also fortunate enough to see the statue erected in his honor

I see these two encounters as the result of his intercession, as these events happened because I am a member of the Marian Missionaries of Divine Mercy.

Having read Pier's Story, praying his Novena, seeking his Intercession for my children, it was his examples as a young man which showed his personal love for the Lord,
that I knew would draw forth others. Recently, I sought Blessed Pier Giorgio prayerfully to bring healing for my 10 month old Grandaughter. She is better and a supposed virus, unknown to doctors, went away, stopping her body from attacking its own platelets via medicine. Blessed Pier Giorgio, pray for us.

He is also a patron for those wishing to enter the Dominican Order. If I am ever permitted to be a Third Order Dominican, I will take the name Pier Giorgio, asking him to be my guide.

I first got to know Pier Giorgio when read book about His life, but at that time I didn't really feel any connection with Him, just another blessed man. It changed when I started to ask Him for intercession, mostly about ordinary, everyday things. Soon I got to know that my friend also knows Pier Giorgio and we started to talk about Him and I prayed more and more for His help. Once I went with my sister, her husband and my 2 brothers to Slovakia for mountain hiking, it was November and weather was pretty good but the higher we went the weather started to deteriorate. At the top of Veľký Rozsutec we were in really bad weather, very strong wind, clouds. I started to pray for Pier Giorgio for safe way back home. At the top of mountain there is a metal box with notebook inside where tourists can sign in and leave some messages, when we were flipping the pages we found some pictures/prayer cards with Pier Giorgio! I took one and still have it. Despite bad weather conditions we had safe way down the mountain and safe trip back home. Now everytime we go to the mountains we pray to Pier Giorgio for safety during the trip. Later I started to ask Pier Giorgio for help in many different situations, He is very helpful in resolving everyday problems at work, conflicts with friends, even finding parking space (especially when in I'm hurry and in new city for me). He never fails. I ask Him for intercession every evening for the courage to go to the heights and aim for sainthood. Because of my friendship with Pier Giorgio I made many new friends (with Tipi Loschi and Ciemne Typy) and when in 2016 His relics were in Poland before WYD I was at all night prayer in Rybnik. It was such a blessed time with Him. What I like the most about Pier Giorgio is His joy, participation in Eucharist and Communion everyday and frequent Confessions. I try to follow this example. Thanks to His rich spiritual life He was also able to enjoy life through friendships, art and sport. This is great example how to live fully with Christ and in His Church.

I first encountered Pier Giorgio while visiting the Vatican in 1990. I found the compelling story of his life whiled visiting St. Lawrence Youth Chapel at the Vatican. Reading the story of his life was to be the beginning of my intercession for many youth who sought my prayers. I am grateful for the friends I regularly meet with the help of Bl. Pier Giorgio. Friendship with Wanda Gawronska, his niece from the time of the Denver World Youth Day has continued to the present moment. As one of a good number of CFR Franciscan Friars serving The Frassati Society in New York City, I continue to pray for the day of Canonization of our Holy friend, Pier Giorgio! L'alto Verso !

I came to know Blessed Pier Giorgio through my mom and grandmother who both have devotions to him. He became very present in my life almost eleven years ago when my parents named my brother Peter George after him. Moreover, these associations with the man Pier Giorgio became a very deep, very real relationship with him this year. As a 17 year old who feels very passionate about my Catholic faith, serving the less fortunate, mountain climbing, and evangelizing through pure friendships, Pier Giorgio has not only become one of my role models but a fierce, fierce friend to me. He emulates all the qualities I aspire to possess and is everything I hope my future spouse will be. With so much love for my best heavenly "guy friend" (sorry St. Francis!), I will continue fervently praying for his canonization!
