Testimony of Gerardo V. from USA

I had left the seminary (took a year off) and was uncertain of my vocation. I visited a monestary the weekend before starting my new job and in their little library I saw a book by Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati's sister titled "A Man of the Beatitutes." I heard a priest in confession mention him to me a few times. I read the entire book that evening. I worked for only 5-months until I decided to return to the seminary.

Thank you Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati for your witness to living out the Gospel. Please intercede for my vocation in Heaven!

Testimony of Leslie K. from USA

Bl. Pier Giorgio helped me to evangelize in college. I was notorious for reading books about saints, but when I read his biography there was one professor in particular who took an interest. Although this may not seem like a big deal, to spark a discussion based on Jesus in a big secular university is not the ordinary. The life of Pier Giorgio was so approachable, it allowed Christ to enter into your average college classroom.

Testimony of Gerald F. from USA

Pier Giorgio is my friend, my brother, and my patron. I first learned about him a few years ago through social media including YouTube posts by now-Bishop Robert Barron. I have since developed a personal and dynamic friendship with Pier Giorgio that has filled and colored my life so profoundly and, above all, has helped draw me closer to Mary and to Christ. He is for me a constant, consummate guide and companion, and a true model of discipleship both through his private devotional and spiritual life as well as in his courageous public witness to his faith in the wake of Fascist violence and oppression. Thus, Pier Giorgio stands not only as a patron for youth but also as a defender of religious liberty. His elevation to the altar, therefore, seems most propitiously and providentially timed for the present. Verso l'alto! Santo subito!

Testimony of Nicola V. from USA

Bl. Pier Giorgio has always had a presence in my life especially in youth ministry. At every place I have been to, parish-wise or youth related has always had the intercession of Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati, especially for young men. There is not a single group of young men who are seeking to follow the Lord in radical discipleship who have not asked for his intercession in their activities and growth in holiness.

Now that I am a priest, I have seen, personally, how the witness of this man's life inspires young people to constantly pursue the adventure of holiness. Bl. Pier Giorgio's life tells young people that holiness, sanctity, Life in Christ does not mean being sad or reclusive, but being fully alive, being leaven in the world and utilizing the zeal of youth for the greater glory of God.

Testimony of Daniela N. from Italy

I got to know him during World Youth Day in Cracow last year, I prayed in front of his relics when I still didn't know how great he was and thanks to Father Michael I got to know him more and more! I hope I will learn more and more about him and I hope the Pope will answer positively to this request of canonization! Grazie Father Michael! Grazie Pier Giorgio!

Testimony of Dominic R. from USA

It was our final day at World Youth Day in Krakow when I finally got a chance to go to the Dominican Church and stop for a bit of prayer before the relics of Bl. Pier Giorgio. I had already "met" him a year earlier in Turin Italy, where his relics are usually kept, but this time I had another year of seminary under my belt, I was now only two years away from priestly ordination, and I had just experienced the exiting and intense graces of the preceding week. Yet, the amazingness of the vocation before me, before all of us at WYD - of announcing Jesus Christ to the world, and especially in our own lives - was intimidating just as it was exciting.

Needless to say, Pier Giorgio knows how to encourage one in the vocation of giving everything over to Our Lord! I was only there for about 30 minutes, but I had a great conversation with a man my own age, and a friend and a brother in Christ, and his encouragement to this day continuously re-fires my zeal, gives me the courage to each and every day give myself a little bit more fully over to Christ, and challenges me to let the love of Christ pour through me to all I meet.

Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati, pray for us!

Testimony of Sara H. from USA

When I was in college, I was diagnosed with depression and began experiencing severe anxiety that was often triggered by talk about vocations. At the end of the school year, a sister introduced me to Bl. Pier Giorgio to help me understand our first vocation, to love God. That summer, I felt like Bl. Pier Giorgio was stalking me, and in the best possible way. I met a gal who was reading the book about him that was recommended to me. At the time, I was petrified, quite literally, about "God's will" and my vocation. I didn't understand how a relationship with God looked and could only think about my vocation in pragmatic terms. A lot of wounds, a lot of knots and unhealthy thought patterns...it left me fearing to listen to God in prayer! For some reason, Bl. Pier Giorgio did not scare me, although learning about the lives of many other saints did. He seemed so normal, so ordinary, so approachable. I was open just enough to read a book about his life and the Holy Spirit healed my heart in many ways as I got to know Bl. Pier, and learned about friendship with God, especially with Jesus in the Eucharist. I went from fearing prayer to spending time, even if it was just sitting, in the chapel with Jesus. The lies were undone, I made friends with other ladies who also were struggling with mental illness, and realized I was not alone, and just how much God loved me as I began to see him at work in my life. And of course Bl. Pier Giorgio kept popping up. I continue to turn to him and feel a special friendship with him as I continue my journey of living life to the full. He was the first saint who helped me understand and experience friendship with God, and continues to do so. It has been foundational to my spiritual growth. Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati, pray for us!

Testimony of Rosanna T. from Italy

I kept seing Pier Giorgio's pictures while surfing the internet, but I wasn't interested in finding out who he was. Then one day I couldn't resist the curiosity and I read his story. That day I understood that the Lord had chosen him to look after me as a big brother, the one that I've always wanted. That day I felt a special connection with Pier Giorgio that hasn't changed, and I was privileged enough to venerate his body in Poland for WYD.

Testimony of Colin J. from USA

I learned about Blessed Pier Giorgio when I first began my seminary studies in St. Paul, Minnesota. One of the residence floors there was dedicated to Pier Giorgio's patronage, with images of the mountaineer and his inspirational quotes posted all over the place! I learned a lot about him in the two years that I lived there, and his intercession and inspiration helped me through those early years of formation! He remains a great friend to me, and I have been blessed to see truly amazing things happen in the lives of other men and women who have been introduced to the Man of the Beatitudes.

Testimony of Emily D. from USA

I first took interest in him when I went on a trip to Pollone Italy and hiked a mountain that he hiked all the time. Pier Giorgio inspires me to become holy as a young person. I used to think I had to wait until my life "began" which never really happens, my life is now and I need to become as holy as I can be. He also is a great reminder that we as Catholics do not have to be boring, we can be adventurous and on fire for the faith.

Testimony of Fr. Guy S. from Canada

I am a Catholic priest, Oblate of the Virgin Mary, living in Montreal, Canada. Pier Giorgio since a few years, is my favorite "saint". I know he is not a saint yet, but he will be for sure. The sooner the better, according to me. I have a blog and I wrote many blogs about Pier Giorgio. May our Blessed Mother, whom Pier Giorgio loved so much, hasten the canonization of this wonderful young Chirstian.
