Blessed Pier Giorgio helped answer my prayers and allowed me to beat New York traffic in order to make my flight for a mission to Peru with Frassatti Fellowship. I was running very late and was worried of spoiling the mission, but Blessed Pier Giorgio's intercession allowed me to make it to the airport in just over 20 minutes from Harlem to JFK. I kept the receipt with the time stamp because I was in disbelief. The taxi drove at terrifying speed but the driver knew I would miss my mission if I didn't make it. Cars on the parkway parted ways for our taxi...which is incredible courtesy in a busy city like this. I didn't dare tell anyone until I got home from Peru. On our mission in Lima many of us missions prayed and asked for intercessions, especially in the hardships of our labor, when we needed to find others in a poor village without communication, and when we got hit by upset stomachs and altitude sickness for days. I have never seen so many prayers answered one after another. As an engineer, I tend to scrutinize evidence and proof and what I saw left me with no other choice but to believe that prayers and intercessions like those of Blessed Pier Giorgio's.

I knew the name of Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati when I was student and during the prearation of WYD of Köln in 2005. Later, when I entered in the Order of Preacher as novice, I learnt more about the testimony of sainthood of Bl. Pier Giorgio. I was touched by his energy (he was a great sportsman), his devotion, his charism of discernment and as spiritual adviser, but above all I stay very affected by his joy, his smile and his love for the poors. Today Bl. Pier-Giorgio keeps on being one of the saints who go with me in my way of life as disciple of Christ, as priest : the day of my ordination, as a gift, one of my dominican brother entrust my ministry to the intercession of Bl. Pier-Giorgio. May Pope Francis grant our request and declare Bl. Pier-Giorgio as a saint for being an example and an intercessor for all the Church and specially for the young people !!

We had the favour of venerating Pier Giorgio's ice axe at the Forum des Jeunes in Paray-le-Monial in France. It was very touching and thank God I was allowed to hold it in my hands. I won't tell you the whole story ( unless you want it) but thanks to this Ice axe I have the confirmation that my two brothers, killed in an avalanche on 12, 24, 2014 were alive, with God in heaven. Glory be to God ! And thank you Pier Giorgio !

And, although I am not young, I do believe his life is truly one for our youth to follow and emulate. His love of God, the liturgy and his deep devotion to the poor and oppressed provide our young people a magnificent role model so sorely needed today. The first time I heard about Pier Giorgio was 7 years ago, but it was 5 years after that when I finally read his biography and I absolutely fell for him. He made me realize that it is possible to be a saint even in your routine, doing the everyday things with love and having a close relationship with Jesus in the Eucharist. His life is so simple, yet so amazing! I love how strong his convictions were and that he was never afraid to show he was Catholic and to share his Faith with those who didn't believe. He is truly an example for young people around world.

I became aware of the beautiful life of Bl Pier Giorgio Frassati when I was preparing to go on the Dominican Youth Movement (English Province) pilgrimage to Turin and Oropa in July 2017. SInce then I have been inspired to share his example of sanctity with my friends and my Lay Dominican Fraternity.
He is a shining example of the capabilities of youth and all who truly trust in Our Father.
