I was first introduced to Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati in January of 2015 at the FOCUS SEEK conference. I learned a little about him there, but didn't really become super interested until his remains travel to Krakow, Poland last summer in 2016. I love that he had a passion for the outdoors and a strong devotion to the Eurcharist. I find it very inspiring because he is such a terrific role mole for the youth of many generations. A week before I went on my first mission trip, I decided to pray a novena for his intercession. Also, my devotion towards him strengthened when my group had the opportunity to have Mass at the Basilica of St. John the Baptist in Turin, Italy and in his summer home in Pollena, Italy and went on the hike he took every morning! I also learned about his devotion to the Blessed Mother.The more I learned about him the I realized how much I could relate to him. I am extremely fortunate to have had this experience and my devotion to him continues to strengthen.

We started the first Frassati house in Canada under the auspice of Archbishop Terrence Prendergast (now Archbishop of Ottawa). It was of great encouragement to the men of Halifax, and supported the inaugural year on campus work by Catholic Christian Outreach, a lay university student movement dedicated to evangelization. I studied engineering like Pier Giorgio. Though God did not call me from this life at a young age like Pier, I have served as a missionary with Catholic Christian Outreach for 12 years. There have been vocations also from our original household. Thank you Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati! Santo Subito!

Blessed Pier Giorgio is an inspiration for me because he showed that even a saintly life is open to lay people. His exuberance for life, his vivacious personality and his robust knightly defense of the faith brought a great light, hope and encouragement to people of his day and continue to do so today. Yet his heroic care for the poor and the sick is his greatest legacy. He showed us that even though acts of kindness and mercy may seemingly go unnoticed, they are in fact greatly appreciated and never forgotten. At his funeral many of his contemporaries were amazed at the huge attendance of unknown people, that he had helped, who came to say farewell. His life was a beacon of light that shone brilliantly for not only his family and friends but also for the poor and the sick who felt abandoned by society.

I have the impression that Pier finds his friends and tells you to follow Jesus. From this moment we have a Friend and Advocate in it. He acquainted us with the people who bear Christ. We pray for ourselves, it gives us strength to get up when we fall. He reminds us who we are. This gives us the knowledge that Jesus loves us in spite of sin and waits, always waiting for us. We are valuable because Pier believes we have the will to follow Jesus, because he invited us to our team, despite our weakness. Since he believes in us to be good, we believe in his Advocate. Pier Giorgio is so special to me!
I learned about him 4 years ago and my devotion has since grown greatly!!
I got to go on pilgrimage to Turin in 2015 and it was so powerful to pray in front of his tomb, visit sites that he frequented and climb his favorite mountains. 
I have since then prayed to him specifically with my student leader group at Benedictine College and we deemed him our groups' patron saint and ask his intercession in all our planning of campus events.
I got to pray with Pier Giorgio again at WYD 2016. 
I love his adventurous spirit, his love of the poor, the mountains, community, young people, and his joy/sense of humor and his striving for greatness!!!
I have been praying for his canonization for quite some time and really really hope to attend it!!!

Since that time I have looked to him as a role model for holy masculinity, courage amidst life's challenges and devotion to Our Lord and His bride. I go to Blessed Pier Giorgio frequently asking for his intercession.
Blessed Pier Giorgio is an outstanding example for young people and Christians who want to live a dynamic Faith life. His July 4th feast day makes him special also to the American people.
