 Hey everyone! I developed a love for Pier Giorgio over this past year. I was apart of a missionary program called NET, National Evangelization Teams. I was apart of NET Team 2 which consisted of 11 other missionaries besides myself. Seeing as our ministry is strongly rooted in prayer, our team decided to pick a patron saint (or blessed in this case) to intercede for us! Along with assisting us in ministry to the youth we speak too. Blessed Pier Giorgio is a legend who is definitely written on my heart as a saint! God bless!

I read the book written by Bl. Piergiorgio's niece and was very moved by the story of his life. I then wrote a shortened version on my blog and gave the book to a young man that I sponsored for confirmation. When I taught catechism classes to Grade 5 students I featured Bl. Piergiorgio's story in one of the lesson times so that the children would learn about this young man who lived an extraodinary life in an ordinary time and place. I hope they have not forgotten about him. Blessed Piergiorgio Frassati is one of my favourite saints (St. John Paul II is another one). I am so thankful for their examples to us. I am a convert from a Protestant background.

I was not born into a Catholic family -- I was raised in a Christian home, but by mid-high school I had abandoned my faith entirely. In my first year of college I was pulled in many different directions and found myself feeling lost and empty. In the summer that followed, I experienced a strong conversion of heart and began seeking out fellowship with other Christians. A few days later, a friend invited me to a barbecue to celebrate the feast of Bl. Pier Giorgio (who I had never heard of at the time). In the years that followed, his model and patronage accompanied me in my journey to Catholicism in many significant ways. If nothing else -- though I do believe he was interceding for me throughout this time -- his witness of life has had a lasting impact on the young men of our time, and that impact, through others, reached me in my time of need.

I first met Pier Giorgio when I was 12 at a Catholic youth summer camp I attended. He was the patron of my small group. Ever since then my devotion to him has grown and I have developed a strong friendship with him. The fire that Bl. Pier possessed in loving his faith and everyone around me inspires me daily. As I have grown through my teen years he is always my go to patron, whose intersession I ask for daily. Through his intercession I have been inspired to climb mountains- both literally and figuratively. To become active in embracing the beauty of God's creation as a young person, and also accepting and scaling the mountains and trials God places in my life- and doing both with the love and joy that Blessed Pier exemplified. I love Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati!!!

I first heard about Bl. Pier Giorgio at the Newman Center at my college campus, where he is often looked to as an example for young people.
I was later blessed to stay at the Frassati house in Pollone, Italy for two nights and got to pray at his death bed and meet people at the local parish in the area. I was also blessed to meet a family there who took me to Mass at the church where Bl. Pier Giorgio would go to daily Mass and then go hiking on the mountain where he hiked! Through these experiences, I grew in an understanding of how God spoke to Bl. Pier Giorgio through creation and I definitely believing that Bl. Pier Giorgio was engaging in the sacred preaching of his Dominican vocation with me in these experiences. Since then, I have felt a greater draw towards Bl. Pier Giorgio's call to encounter the poor as Christ present in our lives and he has definitely become an instrumental part in my devotion to God through His saints.

Bl. Pier Giorgio has been a constant heavenly friend to me. I connect so much with him and identify with him. I do not have an amazing story to share, but nothing more than what I feel to be a true relationship with a young man that I never met, but has gently guided me to a closer relationship with our most awesome Lord. I learned about him through friends and dug a little deeper into writings about him and stories of his life and I feel as though I can relate so much with him. His example has encouraged me to be radically turned over to our Lord. I am a little overwhelmed by how much he has impacted me, this young man who I have never met but has certainly befriended me from heaven.

I first came to know Bl. Pier Giorgio when I was visiting one of my favourite churches in Poznan, Sanktuarium Św. Józefa (Karmelici Bosi), and there was this exhibition including photos and short texts about bl. Frassati. When I came back home I started googling for more info about this amazing young man and his friends. It really gave me hope - the feeling that there is still a chance that I can not only do fantastic things in my life, spread love, share God's belssings, be kind, become an inspiration for others, but also maybe one day I will give my life to a man similar to bl. Pier Giorgio, that it is possible that such men still exist!

I go to frassati catholic school in Texas and at first I had no idea who Frassati was. After reading three books about him I started to asking for his intercession and wanting to act like him daily. The result was a simple urge to love others more than I already did. My story isn't a profound miracle but learning to truly love others made a huge difference in my life.

I came to know bl. Pier Giorgio during the WYD in Cracow. I was amazed by his life and I came to venerate his relic when it visited the Dominican church in Warsaw. While I was praying, I felt great joy and connection, as if I was talking to an old friend. I had been looking for a religious group within the Church for some time then, so I asked Pier Giorgio for intercession. Soon I found a great group and my sense of belonging in the Church strengthened. I also developed better group skills and I became much more sensitive to the poor and to those who suffer from injustice. I'm certain that bl. Pier Giorgio was (and still is) guiding me and I thank God for his presence and all the graces I have received through his intercession! :)

Blessed Pier Giorgio more found me than I him. People were posting a lot about him on Facebook and I didn't know why. A friend gave me holy cards of him and then I ended up climbing my first 14er on July 4th (his feast day). I knew all this couldn't be coincidence and I knew that I was supposed to get to know him better. He helped me see the beauty of God's creation and that climbing a mountain is like living life. His motto "Verso L'alto" has really inspired me to "keep climbing" and live life everyday to the fullest. I often fail in that, but I know that with his intersection I can become a saint. Bl. Ppier Giorgio, pray for us.

Testimony of Fatima S. from Malaysia

Actually came to know him through a quote he's famous for: "True happiness does not consist in the pleasures of the world or in earthly things, but in peace of conscience which we only have if we are pure in heart and mind." Wrote it on a sheet of paper as reminder about 14-15 years ago and it's still with me. Then I read more about him as I started training to teach the TOB to teens at my parish. And was blessed to venerate his relic at WYD Krakow last year. I share his interest in the outdoors, and his life and priorities has been such an inspiration to me and I love introducing him to the many young people I speak to. He's an excellent example of the fact that sainthood and holiness is far from boring. Bl Pier Giorgio Frassati, pray for us!
