Testimony of Mantoura Z. from Australia

Bl. Pier Giorgio came into my life when I was searching for answers about purpose and direction. I came to learn about him and the life he led through a wonderful youth adventure group who strive to live, learn and experience Gods amazing creation as Bl. Pier Giorgio did. The more time I spent with this group and hearing about his life and experiences, the stronger my faith grew, as did my love for nature and adventure. He has changed my life immensely. I have become a better person, a more faithful Catholic and an avid adventurer because of Bl. Pier Giorgio and further, through these blessings have come to gain more love and brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ.

Testimony of Rozann L. from USA

I was introduced to Pier Giorgio Frassati by my now husband, Sean Lee, who visited his home in Turin during a study-abroad retreat in Italy. Sean became very devoted to Blessed Pier, and he shared his love and devotion with me. We sought together to live out his style of evangelization among our peers-- an evangelization that displayed fullness of life and love and service, while still modeling joy and engagement in the culture. As we dated, we sought his intercession in our relationship and eventually married. We honestly believe he brought us together and continues to intercede in our marriage to help our union become a means to bring God's love into the world.

Testimony of Joseph P. from USA

Pier Giorgio has always been an example to me that holiness is not only for religious and priests but even for us young lay people. He inspires me to live my life as an adventure for God, not merely exist. I hope to become as selfless, virtuous and holy as Pier. When visiting his vacation home in Pollone, Italy, his life took on a new light for me. I would love for him to become a saint!

Testimony of Fr. John R. from USA

I learned about Bl. Pier Giorgio when a seminarian in Philadelphia. At the end of college seminary, I was chosen as valedictorian and based my address on my favorite quote in which he urges us not to merely exist but to live with faith. Ever since, I've been very devoted to him, trying to spread devotion. I even was fortunate to meet his niece Wanda. I'm a priest for 8 years working in a Catholic high school in NJ. Frassati is a powerful friend in heaven, example and intercessor!

Testimony of James F. from USA

Bl. Pier Giorgio is my confirmation saint. He has been a part of my conversion and faith since I decided to come home to the Catholic Church 8 years ago. He inspired me to serve the poor, to discern religious life, and to eventually give myself in marriage to a faithful Catholic who also loves the poor, but more importantly who loves Jesus Christ. Although I don't drink like Pier, I find in him a man worthy of my attention, to show me how a life of sacrifice for our Lord can be lived.

Testimony of Maria Elena B.Q. from USA

I am natively from Colombia, and by the end of my college years got a scholarship to do a masters in the Polythecnic of Turin, Italy. Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati has been part of my life since 2015 when I travel back to Turin, to graduate from my masters . Since I met him, I have been impacted Of how extraordinary his ordinary life was. Frassati is the perfect example of a radical-in love with God and our Lady, lay person. Every part of his testimony speaks directly to my heart, especially how his family didn't support his fire for the Lord and he still followed Him without disrespecting his parents or sister. He is the perfect example of how to share Christ with everyone in every situation without being weird or extreme. He has also helped me a lot through healing and growing closer in love for the Lord.

Testimony of Elizabeth J. from USA

Blessed Pier Giorgio became my friend at a very difficult time in my life. He helped me through my parents' divorce and all of the events that led up to and have followed from it. He helped me get my first job (the interview was on his feast day!). He was the patron of my classroom for years, and I've introduced many students to him. His picture still hangs in my office. He introduced me to my husband (we met through the Frassati group that the Dominicans ran), and I have him to thank for my vocation, the wonderful man that I married, and my two beautiful children.

Testimony of Jacob F. from USA

Dear Pope Francis,

As we go forward in this year discerning the call of the young Church in this new evangelization, I ask you to canonize my hero Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati. Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati has been an incredible patron in my life through the introduction of my Youth Minister. She has since joined a religious community, and I hope to join a community as well and I may even take Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati's name because of his impact in my life.

Testimony of Courtney H. from USA

Pier Giorgio was introduced to me at a time in my life when I thought that I was doing everything okay in regards to being Catholic when truly I was so below average. I was not ready to be uncomfortable I did not want to strive for the mountains and conquer my fears and insecurities. Pier's story taught me that even though I am young I should not settle for the norm rather strive to the heights.

Testimony of John I. from USA

I came to know PierGiorgio thru a local religious order. However, 2 years ago, a friend was on life support and they were calling the family in to make life and death decisions, e..g 'pulling the plug'. I asked the family to pray to PierGiorgio, which they did, holding hands. At church they handed out fliers with Piergiorgio's picture and a prayer asking them to pray for her recovery. She made an unbelievable recovery in a relatively short period of time and is back to work. I attribute this to PierGiorgio

Testimony of Anna H. from USA

PGF has always been a good friend of mine, but last summer the Lord took that friendship to the next level.

Last summer at World Youth Day I was able to visit his body, which was a huge deal for me. I wasn't even sure if I was able to do it with the hectic schedule, but our group made it happen.

Everyone has those moments that they imagine will go a certain way. In this case, it didn't happen like I anticipated.

When we finally made it into the Basilica, the church was beautiful, and he was there. There was a huge banner hanging from the ceiling and another smaller poster of him next to his casket. A spot opened up by the railing closest to him, I knelt on the marble, and I just sobbed. It was overwhelming. Imagine finally meeting a pen pal that you consider one of your best friends, or you're reunited with someone you love for the first time in years. That moment that you think "You're actually here. You're right here. I can see you."

The moment was not what I expected; it was so much more. There was no way to prepare for it. I had looked forward to that moment, but I expected his casket to be a speck in a crowd that I would wait in line to see and pray with for a few seconds. Here I was, right in front of him, with time to grasp the beauty before me, not rushed, just hanging out with my friend. Not to sound cheesy, but it was probably the most beautiful moment of my life to date.

After regaining control of myself, I left the railing and checked my watch. It was the Hour of Mercy (3pm, when Jesus died on the cross). I couldn't find my regular rosary, so I pulled out one that I had bought at the Cloth Hall. I know it's not bad to pray on an unblessed rosary, but I had the desire to find a priest and have it blessed if at all possible. As soon as the thought entered my head, a Dominican appeared and I asked him to bless the rosary. He said of course and had my friend I follow him into the sacristy, which was unavailable to the pilgrims. He recited the prayer in Polish. It was so so beautiful.

They exposed the Blessed Sacrament, and then they announced that they were going to all do a Chaplet of Divine Mercy, which is what I was planning to pray anyway. Needless to say, I was again overwhelmed. Everything I had wanted was provided. I was with PGF before the Blessed Sacrament, praying a Divine Mercy Chaplet in the hour of mercy, in the year of mercy, in the country where the Divine Mercy was established. Who can contain this much?? Certainly not me. I'm only human.

After reciting the Chaplet (in English, Spanish, Polish, and Italian I think), we proceeded to sing it in English. A priest with a guitar led it. As they returned the Eucharist to the tabernacle, we all sang Ubi Caritas in 4 and 5 part harmony (which did sound good, fellow musicians). It was just the best. There's no other way to describe it, and typing it out doesn't bring it justice.

Because of our small group, we were able to stay for the entire holy hour and experience all these things. God had provided everything.
