Right now I am reading To the Heights and it is one of the most inspiring books I have ever read. I will be getting confirmed in about a year and a half. I feel a strong calling for Pier Giorgio Frassati to be my confirmation saint. I hope that with this testimony he will become the great saint that he is meant to be so that others can be inspired just as I was.

18 years ago my oldest child and I joined an organization that emphasized the relationship between father and son. Over the years, my family benefited from the Godly men and families we surrounded ourselves with in Kepha and I was eventually bringing all five of my sons to retreats. Kepha has three patrons - St. John Bosco, St. Teresa of Calcutta and Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati. We learned much about each of our patrons and I always appreciatedthe example of "manly" Catholicism of Pier Giorgio. This Man of the Eight Beatitudes was an awesome role model for my boys. The ultimate experience was our visit to Turin, Italy - the home of Frassati - including Mass at his death bed in the mountains and a visit to his home in the city. What a man!
